The story
Leila sits on the upper plank, shoulders leaning against the wall. Her towel lies flat beneath her hips. Outside, snow falls against the windows, inside, red light falls from the left onto her damp skin. She has her eyes closed, her lashes are wet. The warmth has slightly reddened her legs, yet her breath remains calm. Outside it is quiet, only the wood creaks once.

Leila studied architecture in Karlsruhe and has been managing small residential projects in the suburbs for three years. Her parents came from India and the Ruhr area respectively, and her drawings blend clean lines with soft curves. When her schedule becomes particularly tight, she retreats to the small wooden house at the edge of the forest, staying on the top bench until the twilight outside blends with the snow. The camera belongs to a friend who is working on a promotional booklet for a new sauna facility. She agreed to participate because she loves the contrast between the warm red lamps and the cold white outside.
