The Gardener
A gardener at the edge of the Scottish cliffs, where roses and sea wind mingle.
The wind sweeps over the cliffs and lifts a corner of her wet shirt. Among the roses the ground stays warm from the day and smells of salt and earth. Fiona hears the waves below beating softly against the rocks. She stands barefoot on the stones, one leg set slightly forward, and lets the fabric simply slide off her shoulders. Her face stays turned to the sky. Only her lashes flutter once, as the light touches her.
The scene plays out at the stone wall above the sea. The rose bushes to the left and right are already half in shadow, the last light falls from the left across Fiona's upper body.
The Gardener
Fiona has tended the small rose garden on the cliffs for three years. She lives alone in the old garden hut and sells cut flowers to the few fishermen and the guests along the coastal road. Before sunset the blooms are at their softest, so she opens her shirt when no one else is nearby, letting the camera catch the light on her skin. She likes it when her freckles and the damp strands remain visible.
