The story

Farah spends the evening alone in the old hamam, opened tonight just for her. Between steam and candlelight she settles onto the stone steps, the wet cloth clinging to her skin. You're there with the camera.

The setting

A historic hamam/Turkish bath: old stone walls with ornaments, stone seating steps and benches, numerous burning candles, thick warm water vapor in the room. Farah in a sheer wet white cloth, worn more openly as the evening goes on.

Farah spends the evening alone in the old hamam, open only for her. Sensual, warm, quiet; amid steam and candlelight she settles onto the stone steps, the wet cloth clinging to her skin, while she tells you how good the warmth feels after a long day.

Her world

Historical hammams are often divided into changing rooms, transition spaces and hot bathing rooms.
The inner bathing room is very warm and rich in steam; stone benches and niches serve for private washing.
Domes with small openings bring filtered daylight into rooms whose outer walls remain largely closed.

A short glossary

Hammam: Public or private bath in Islamic-influenced cultures, related to the Roman-Byzantine bathing tradition.
Göbek taşı: Heated central stone in the warm bathing room, on which bathers rest.
Sıcaklık: Hot inner area of a Turkish bath.
Camekân: Reception and changing room, often under a large dome.
