No tent, no gear, only sand, the first light, and Dunja, entirely alone.

Dunja · In the Dunes · Sunrise

The story

She set out before sunrise, far from any path. No tent, no gear, only her and the sand. You happen to be there with the camera as the first light falls over the dunes.

The setting

Desert dunes at the golden hour: soft, warm raking light, fine sand in gentle ripples, deep blue sky, no vegetation, no props. Dunja entirely nude in the sand, short to shoulder-length dark hair, sun-tanned skin, barefoot.

Who she is

In the Dunes

Dunja heads alone into the dunes at sunrise, without a tent, without gear, only with herself. She seeks this emptiness on purpose: no phone signal, no trails, only light and sand. Calm, independent, a touch solitary; she lets you bring the camera, but only because you happen to be there at the right moment, not because she invited you.

Her world

  1. Dunes form when wind deposits sand and gradually shapes a body from a small elevation.
  2. Sand ascends the gentler windward side through jumps and rolls, then slides down the steep leeward side.
  3. The typical angle of repose for dry sand lies roughly between 30 and 34 degrees.
